Octomore 11.3 is a five year old single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay, distilled in 2014 from the 2013 harvest of Concerto barley grown on Octomore farm. The barley was malted to 194 PPM.
It matured for its full term on Islay in first fill American whiskey casks from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace and Jack Daniels. Bottled at 61.7% without chill-filtering or added colour, it is limited to 18,000 bottles.
The nose is floral and bright, with light peat smoke, sweet citrus, honey and vanilla. The palate brings honey, fruit syrup, orange blossom and apricot jam. The finish turns to dry, earthy smoke, with burnt heather, toffee and malt sugar.
