Octomore 12.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled in 2021 at a cask strength of 59.9% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 100% Scottish Concerto barley, has a peat level of 130.8 PPM and was matured for five years in first-fill American whiskey casks. About 15,000 bottles were produced.
On the nose, zesty citrus and earthy peat smoke give way to vanilla sponge cake and warm caramel. The oily palate brings golden syrup, smoked almonds and bonfire ash with a maritime minerality, and the finish is long and drying, with salted caramel and cold smoke.
