A single vintage, single field Islay malt from Bruichladdich's Octomore range, made from 100% Concerto barley grown on Octomore Farm and peated to 118.1 ppm. It was matured and bottled on Islay at a cask strength of 62.1%, without chill-filtration or added colour.
Seventy-five per cent of the whisky spent five years in ex-American whiskey casks. The other 25% matured for five years in Pedro Ximenez solera casks from Bodega Fernando de Castilla in Jerez.
The nose brings cherries, figs and raisins with charcoal and light smoke. The palate is led by sherry fruit, with dark chocolate and earthy peat. The finish has charcoal, soot, dried figs and salted lemon.
