Octomore 13.1 is a five year old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, part of The Impossible Equation series. It was bottled on 15 March 2022 at a cask strength of 59.2%, in a 70cl bottle, after maturing in ex-bourbon casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The peat measures 137.3ppm. It sits alongside a floral, malty spirit and sweet American oak, before dry, earthy smoke crosses the palate. The nose is sweet, nutty smoke with barley sugar, syrupy apricot, ripe pear, vanilla, coconut, almonds and charred oak. The palate is viscous, with smoked cereal, apricot jam, peat embers and burnt heather. The finish turns earthy and mossy in dry heather smoke, with salty citrus, geranium and rose.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
