Octomore 13.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2016 from 100% Scottish mainland barley of the 2015 harvest, malted to 137.3 PPM, and matured in American oak casks.
The nose is sweet, nutty smoke with barley sugar, apricot, pear, crème brûlée, coconut and charred oak, plus boot polish and leather. The palate is viscous, with smoked apricot jam, peat embers, burnt heather, gooseberry and Turkish delight. The finish brings oak chips, sugared almonds and chocolate limes with spicy aniseed. A drop of water intensifies the smoke.
