Octomore 13.2 is the thirteenth release in Bruichladdich's heavily peated Octomore series on Islay, bottled at 58.3% ABV and peated to 137.3 PPM. It is made from Concerto barley harvested in 2015, distilled in 2016 and matured for five years entirely on Islay.
The maturation took place in Oloroso sherry casks from Fernando de Castilla in Jerez de la Frontera, casks that held sherry for many years.
Smoky nuts, milk chocolate, orange pralines and Christmas spice make up the nose. The palate brings smoked nuts, orange marmalade, dried fruit and leather, and in the finish the smoke joins nutty, fruity sherry sweetness.
Tasting Notes
Highly aromatic, with nutty, salty smoke, sweet milk chocolate, orange pralines, grapefruit, a hint of cinnamon and cloves, dried and ripe autumn fruit, all wrapped in smoke
