Octomore 14.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, made from 100% Scottish barley and measuring 128.9 ppm. It was matured for 5 years in first-fill American whiskey casks and bottled at 59.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The cask brings vanilla, sweet caramel and citrus notes around the smoke, with roasted coffee beans and spice.
On the nose there is smoked vanilla, toffee, coconut and lemon meringue pie. The palate offers citrus, charred oak, pear, gooseberry and heather honey, and the finish carries butterscotch, earthy peat smoke, salty spray and burnt heather. The colour is golden amber.
