Octomore 14.2 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 57.7%. It was put together by Adam Hannett from a selection of more than 200 cask types in the warehouses, built around Oloroso sherry and Amarone casks, then refined in French oak.
The nose is marked sweetness and nutty tones, with a robust, savoury character from the Oloroso casks and complex oak from the French wood. The palate balances sweet and nutty notes with robust spice and Octomore's smoke. The finish brings rich red fruit from the Amarone casks.
