Octomore – 14.3 5 Year Old (61.4%)

Octomore 14.3 is a five-year-old Islay whisky bottled at 61.4% ABV, with a peat level of 214.2 ppm. It is part of the Octomore 14 series and is distilled from 100% Islay barley grown at Octomore Farm, two miles from the distillery. Head distiller Adam Hannett matured it in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and second-fill wine casks, which work with the spirit without dominating it. The whisky is described as earthy, recalling warm sweet mash and barley malt, with butterscotch, creamy porridge, honeycomb and vanilla, and plenty of peat smoke.
