Octomore 14.3 Islay Single Malt (70cl, 61.4%)

Octomore 14.3 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 61.4% in a 70cl bottle. The barley was grown on the Octomore farm, two kilometres from the distillery. The whisky matured in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and ex-wine casks. The oak shapes the flavour without overpowering the grain, leaving the character of the Islay barley at the front, set against earthy peat smoke and sweeter, creamy notes. The nose has hot sweet mash, delicate sponge notes from the malted barley and earthy peat smoke. The palate offers creamy porridge and cereal, butterscotch, honeycomb and a little vanilla. The finish is long, with soft peat smoke and earthy and sweet notes together.
