Octomore 15.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from the Octomore series by Bruichladdich, made from 100% Scottish barley. It is a limited edition, bottled at 59.1% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured for five years in American oak casks that previously held bourbon.
The nose is smoky, with sweet vanilla, malted barley, fresh citrus and a little spice. The palate is very peaty, with a creamy sweetness, vanilla, caramel, smoke and citrus. The finish is long, smoky and spicy, with a light sweetness in the aftertaste.
