Octomore 15.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from the Bruichladdich distillery, in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 100% Scottish barley, and this edition reaches 108.2ppm. The whisky is matured for 5 years in ex-bourbon casks. The nose is smoky, with vanilla and toasted wood. On the palate it is powerful and enveloping, with peat, tobacco and caramel, a little spice and a touch of minerality underneath. The finish is very long, salty and lingering.
