Octomore 15.2 is a single malt from Bruichladdich's Octomore range, peated to 108.2 ppm and made from 100% Scottish barley. It was distilled in 2018 from the 2017 harvest and is bottled at 57.9% ABV.
The spirit was first filled into second fill wine and second fill bourbon casks. In 2023 it was recasked into first fill Cognac casks for the rest of its five years of maturation.
The nose is sweet citrus, lime zest and lemon meringue pie, with toasted oak and earthy smoke. The palate brings vanilla custard, caramel, toffee and black pepper, with pear drops and dried apricot against the peat smoke. The finish is maritime, with salt spray and lingering peat embers.
