Octomore 16.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 59.3% near cask strength. It is non-chill-filtered.
It was distilled from 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley, peated to 101.4 PPM, and matured for 5 years entirely in first-fill bourbon casks.
The nose is dense peat smoke with salted caramel, honeydew melon, apricot and vanilla. On the palate, creamy caramel and ripe stone fruit meet spicy oak and dark chocolate, with the smoke well integrated. The finish is very long, dry and smoky, with a sweet echo.
