Octomore 16.2 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 58.1% as part of the limited Octomore Series Sixteen.
It uses the same Concerto barley, peated to 101.4 PPM, as the 16.1. It was matured for 5 years in Oloroso sherry and Bordeaux casks, then finished in Madeira and Moscatel casks.
The nose offers caramelised sweetness and roasted nuts with dried figs, raisins and red berries, over gentle campfire smoke. The palate is dark fruit, toffee and nut brittle framed by fine wine tannins. The finish is very long and warming, with a trail of spicy smoke.
