Octomore 17.3 Islay Single Malt (70cl, 60.9%)

Octomore 17.3 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at a cask strength of 60.9% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The barley is Concerto, grown on Octomore Farm itself. The whisky matured for five years in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and wine casks. The nose is described as smouldering bonfire smoke, fresh barley, sweet vanilla, citrus peel and damp moss. On the palate, intense peat smoke meets malty sweetness, roasted almonds, ripe apricots and salty sea spray. The finish is very long, dry and smoky, with a fine mineral note.
