Octomore 17.3 is a heavily peated single malt Scotch from Bruichladdich on Islay, in a 70cl bottle at 60.9% ABV.
It is made from spirit of a single vintage, using grain grown in one place: Irene's Field on Octomore Farm, about two miles from the distillery. The spirit was aged for five years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks together with casks that previously held Ribera del Duero, Sauternes, Eiswein and Syrah wines. It is peated to 132.1ppm.
The profile is earthy smoke, herbs, boiled sweets and salted caramel.
