This is a 7 year old single malt from Octomore, made by Bruichladdich on the Isle of Islay. The barley was malted to 108.2 PPM, and the whisky is bottled at 57.2%, un-chill filtered and with no added colour.
It matured for seven years in first-fill Oloroso casks and was finished in French virgin oak. The Oloroso brings warmth, dried fruit and toasted walnuts, while the virgin oak adds cinnamon and toasted oak.
The nose is of dry, mineral smoke, with a bright malty core balancing the peat and oak.
