Octomore Edition 09.3 (70cl, 62.9%)

Octomore 09.3 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, measuring 133 ppm. It was made only from Concerto barley harvested in 2011 on Octomore Farm, distilled in 2012 and matured for five years on the island. The casks were first-fill American whiskey, virgin oak, Rivesaltes, Syrah and second-fill bourbon. This edition came from 134 casks and 18,000 bottles, bottled at a natural 62.9% ABV without chill-filtering or added colour. It is described as combining intense smoke, malted cereals, ripe fruit, spices and saline notes, with a long peaty finish.
