Octomore Futures 2002 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, with a peating level of 80.5 ppm. It carries a five year age statement and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured exclusively in Buffalo Trace bourbon casks and bottled in 2008, with 9600 bottles produced in the Futures series.
The nose is juicy pear, ripe apple and toasted oak. The palate brings dark chocolate, honeyed dates and sea salt, and the finish is long and warming, with spiced toffee and smoky undertones.
