Old Bardstown Estate Bottled is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Willett Distillery, bottled at 50.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle without chill filtration.
The mashbill is 72% corn, 13% rye and 15% malted barley, roughly three times the usual share of malted barley. The bourbon is aged for a minimum of four years in new American oak.
The nose brings sherry and mint with eucalyptus and citrus. On the palate, nutmeg and caramel give way to tobacco, leather, cherry and cranberry. The finish is medium to long and warming, with fresh herbs, oak and a lingering spice.
