Old Carter Batch 4-CA is a barrel strength straight bourbon made for California, one of the state-specific releases from Old Carter Whiskey Co. The label was founded by Mark and Sherri Carter, who previously built Kentucky Owl.
The barrels are sourced from several places and bottled with minimal processing. Each bottle is wax dipped and hand-labelled, and comes in a 750ml size. The CA batch is a separate barrel selection from Batch 4 releases for other states.
The nose offers caramel, vanilla, dried fruit and grain spice. The palate is bold and direct, and the finish is long and warming.
