Old Carter Batch 6 Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 58.1%)

Old Carter Batch 6 is a barrel strength straight rye released in April 2020 by Mark and Sherri Carter. The rye was distilled in Indiana and bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky, at 116.3 proof (58.15%), without chill filtration, in a 750ml bottle. The Carters hand selected and blended the barrels for this batch. It was bottled as 1,521 bottles, each labelled by hand by Sherri. The nose is floral and lightly sweet, with citrus, soft spice and a touch of mint that opens with air. On the palate, caramel and butterscotch lead, with baking spice, ripe cherry and red hot candy heat. The finish is long and balanced, with mint, caramel and lingering warmth.
