Old Carter Bourbon #95 is a thirteen-year-old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at a barrel strength of 60.1% ABV without chill filtration. It comes in a 750ml bottle. Old Carter Whiskey Co. is the project of Mark and Sherri Carter, who started it under their own name after selling Kentucky Owl in 2017. They do not run a distillery; they select mature Kentucky whiskey and release it as it comes from the barrel. Barrel #95 yielded 162 bottles, and this is number 61, with the details written on the label by hand. The nose is rich caramel, dark vanilla, seasoned oak and baking spice. The palate is full-bodied, with toffee, charred oak, dark fruit and warm spice, followed by a long, warming finish of caramelised sugar, oak and pepper.
