This is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Old Carter Whiskey Co., aged thirteen years and bottled from barrel number 94 at 59.75% ABV (119.5 proof). It is bottle 129 of 136, bottled in Frankfort, Kentucky, uncut and non-chill filtered.
Old Carter is the project of Mark and Sherri Carter, who sold Kentucky Owl in 2017 and began again under their own name. They select mature Kentucky whiskey rather than distilling it, and Sherri hand-labels each bottle with the barrel number, bottle number and strength.
The nose brings dark caramel, vanilla bean, toasted oak and dried cherry, and the palate is full-bodied with toffee, dark fruit and cinnamon. The finish is long and warming.
