Old Carter Bourbon Whiskey Batch 1-DC is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon from Old Carter Whiskey Co., founded by Mark and Sherri Carter, who also created Kentucky Owl. The DC in the name marks a batch allocated to Washington DC.
It is a blend of sourced Kentucky bourbon barrels, bottled at barrel strength, 59.1% ABV, and non-chill filtered. Sherri labels every bottle by hand.
Dark caramel, toasted oak and baking spice lead the nose. The palate brings toffee, brown sugar and cinnamon with an oily texture, and the finish is long and warming, with barrel spice fading to sweet oak.
