Old Carter Bourbon Whiskey Batch #14 (75cl, 58.5%)

Old Carter Batch #14 is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon from Old Carter Whiskey Co., founded by Mark and Sherri Carter, who also created Kentucky Owl. It is a blend of barrels from Kentucky and Tennessee distilleries, bottled at barrel strength of 117 proof (58.5% ABV) in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered, and Sherri labels every bottle by hand. The nose is dark caramel, toffee, toasted oak, vanilla, dried fruit and warm baking spice. The palate is full and concentrated, with brown sugar, charred barrel, rye spice and an oily mouthfeel. The finish is long and drying, with persistent barrel spice and a sweet, warm fade.
