Old Carter Rye Whiskey Batch 8 (75cl, 57.9%)

Old Carter Rye Batch 8 is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey in a 750ml bottle, bottled uncut and unfiltered at a natural barrel strength of 57.9% ABV. The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and the whiskey comes from hand-selected barrels. Carter and Theresa Beam's Old Carter Whiskey Co. in Louisville released 1,607 bottles of this numbered small batch in June 2021. The notes run to crème brûlée, root beer and red hots, candied bacon, leather, tobacco and toasted hazelnuts, with bold rye spice over a rich, creamy body. The finish is exceptionally long and mouth-coating.
