Old Carter Very Small Batch 5-OC is a 10-year-old straight bourbon, bottled at barrel strength of 59.2% ABV (118.4 proof) in Louisville, Kentucky, in a 75cl bottle. It was made for Old Carter club members, and 539 bottles were produced.
Old Carter Whiskey Co. is the project of Mark and Sherri Carter, who built Kentucky Owl before selling it in 2017. This batch combines a handful of casks.
The nose is deep caramel, vanilla bean and brown sugar, with seasoned oak, dark fruit and baking spice. The palate is full-bodied, with caramel, toasted vanilla, dark cherry and cinnamon. The finish is long and warming, with caramelised sweetness and oak.
