Old Carter Very Small Batch Bourbon Batch CA-4 is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at natural barrel strength, 59.3% ABV, with no water added and no chill filtration. Old Carter Whiskey Co., the Louisville and Bardstown blending house of Mark and Sherri Carter, sources the bourbon and blends it in very small batches. CA-4 is the fourth California-exclusive release, limited to 1,395 bottles. It carries no age statement. Tasting notes describe deep caramel and vanilla bean on the nose, then a thick, chewy palate of brown sugar, dark cherry, cinnamon and oak. The finish is long and warming and is said not to drink hot.
