This is a seven year old Kentucky straight bourbon from the 1980s, bottled at 40% in a large 175cl bottle. Old Charter was historically produced by Schenley at the Bernheim distillery, and this is a Schenley version of the brand.
Schenley was acquired by United Distillers in 1987. In 1999 Diageo sold the Bernheim distillery to Heaven Hill and the Old Charter brand to Sazerac, which still makes it at Buffalo Trace.
