Old Charter Oak Finest Oak is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 47.5% ABV. It belongs to the Old Charter Oak series, which looks at how different oak origins and barrel treatments shape the flavour of bourbon. This release uses barrels chosen for their grain structure, tightness and seasoning, and is made from Buffalo Trace's mash bill after extended ageing. The nose is warm vanilla, toasted oak and caramel cream, then dried cherry, light molasses, roasted nuts and a hint of pipe tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, with toffee, brown sugar, oak spice and dark honey, plus cherry cordial and cocoa powder. The finish is long and warm.
