Old Charter Oak French Oak is a Kentucky straight bourbon aged for twelve years at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort. It is bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof).
Its character comes from barrels of French oak, a wood with a tighter grain than American oak, which gives more subtle flavours and a silkier texture.
The nose is vanilla with hints of apricot, cherry and rose petal. The palate is thick and creamy, with maple syrup and the oak coming through, and the long finish brings chocolate and toasted oak.
