Old Dominick Bourbon is a high-rye bourbon from Old Dominick Distillery in Memphis, Tennessee, in a 750ml bottle at 45.05% ABV (90.1 proof).
The mashbill is 52% corn, 44% rye and 4% malted barley. Master Distiller Alex Castle has the spirit go into West Tennessee white oak barrels at a relatively low 110 proof.
The nose opens with honey and cinnamon, then floral notes, buttercream, toasted oak, vanilla and caramel. On the palate, corn-driven caramel gives way to rye spice, with dark chocolate, leather and dried fruit. The finish is long, with cinnamon and oak tannins.
