Old Forester – 1870 Original Batch Kentucky Bourbon (75cl, 45%)

Old Forester 1870 Original Batch is a Kentucky bourbon bottled at 45% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It is part of the Whiskey Row series that Brown-Forman announced in 2014 to show the evolution of the brand. The name marks 1870, the year Old Forester became a small batch bourbon, blended to keep the flavour consistent between batches. To recreate that, barrels were taken from three warehouses, each differing in maturity, distillation date and entry proof, then married together. The resulting profile is baking spices, charred oak and soft fruit.
