Old Forester 1870 Original Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 45% ABV. It is made by selecting barrels from three warehouses, with different production days, entry proofs and age profiles, and batching them with minimal filtration.
The nose combines apple, mandarin, honey and delicate clove and nutmeg. Crisp fruit gives way on the palate to shortbread sweetness and vanilla, and the finish carries oak and gentle baking spice as the fruit fades.
