Old Forester 1897 Bottled in Bond is a Kentucky straight bourbon at 50% ABV (100 proof), named after the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. It belongs to Old Forester's Whiskey Row series and comes in a 75cl bottle.
The mashbill is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, aged for a minimum of four years in new charred oak barrels in a single bonded warehouse. As the Act requires, every bottle comes from one distillation season, one distiller and one distillery.
The nose shows caramel, vanilla, roasted coffee, dried plum and fig. The palate has salted caramel, honey, allspice and toasted oak, and the finish is long, with oak tannins, caramel, baking spice and a touch of smoke.
