Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky is a double-barrelled Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 46.5% in a 750ml bottle. It is the fourth and final expression in the Whiskey Row Series, built on Old Forester's mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley.
The name looks back to a fire in October 1910 that halted the bottling line in Louisville. Mature whiskey was rested in new charred oak until repairs were done, and it became Owsley Brown's personal stock. Today mature Old Forester goes into a second, lightly toasted and heavily charred barrel at 100 proof.
The nose is buttercream, sticky toffee, cedar and apricot. The palate has oatmeal raisin cookie, milk chocolate and caramel corn with building spice, and the finish is charred oak with lingering caramel.
