Old Forester – 2008 Birthday Bourbon

This is the 2008 Birthday Bourbon from Old Forester. Its barrels were all chosen from the sixth floor of Warehouse H, an upper level where heat builds, which gives a more robust and complex whiskey. The nose offers dark toffee, rich caramel and chocolate with sweet coconut, then deep dark fruit, citrus and oak. On the palate come caramelised oak, ripe apple, vanilla and toasted coconut, with cinnamon and delicate mint. The finish is long, with subtle fruit and spice.
