Old Forester – 2010 Birthday Bourbon

This is the 2010 Birthday Bourbon from Old Forester, a Kentucky straight bourbon. The barrels were matured together in the middle of Warehouse K, on the fifth floor, surrounded by open space. That let them breathe easily as the whiskey aged and develop a rich fruit and spice character. The nose has cedar, dark chocolate and tropical fruit over caramel and butterscotch. On the palate, crisp cedar and nutty oak mingle with fig, berry and citrus. The finish is long, with crisp wood spice and a touch of fruit.
