Old Forester 86 Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made by Brown-Forman from a mashbill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. The bourbon is aged in new charred American oak barrels, kept in temperature-controlled, heat-cycled warehouses. The brand was founded in 1870 by George Garvin Brown, who sold his whiskey only in sealed glass bottles. The nose brings vanilla, caramel, citrus and tropical fruit, with nutmeg and clove. The palate has honey, brown sugar, red apple, cherry and ginger spice. The finish is medium, with vanilla and light tannins.
