Old Forester Classic 86 Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 43% ABV in Louisville in a 750ml bottle. It is the everyday expression of the bourbon George Garvin Brown created in 1870 as America's first bottled bourbon. The mash is the house recipe of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. Tasting notes describe citrus, tropical fruit and delicate florals on the nose with pound-cake sweetness, then citrus zest and ripe pear over fresh mint and clove on the palate. The finish carries spearmint, clove spice and warm toasted oak.
