Old Forester – Signature 100 Proof Bourbon (75cl, 50%)

Old Forester Signature 100 Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Louisville, bottled at 50% in a 750ml bottle. It is made from barrels selected by Old Forester, using a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. The Signature name honours founder George Garvin Brown, who created the bourbon in 1870 and signed every bottle. It carries no age statement and is not a Bottled-in-Bond bottling. The nose is rich with vanilla, butterscotch and black cherry, with hints of nutmeg and allspice. The palate has cane-sugar sweetness, black cherry, candied citrus and subtle barrel char. The finish is charred oak and warm baking spices, with black tea and burnt sugar.
