Old Forester – Single Barrel Rye Barrel Strength (75cl, 63.1%)

Old Forester Single Barrel Rye Barrel Strength is a rye whiskey bottled straight from an individual cask, unfiltered and undiluted, in a 75cl bottle at 63.1% ABV (126.2 proof). Each barrel carries its own strength and character. It is the first time in the brand's 150-year history that Old Forester has released its rye at full strength. The recipe is 65% rye, 20% malted barley and 15% corn, matured in the distillery's heat-cycled warehouses. Tasting notes describe honey, bubblegum and grainy corn muffin on the nose, with fennel, mint and floral tones. The palate brings spearmint gum, molasses, citrus rind and honeydew melon, and the finish is soft, with vanilla, oak and spice.
