A single-barrel straight rye from Old Forester, selected by the president of Brown-Forman and bottled at barrel strength in a 75cl bottle. The strength varies from barrel to barrel.
The mash bill is 65% rye, 20% malted barley and 15% corn, and the whiskey is aged in heavily charred new American oak.
Tasting notes describe rye spice, dark cherry, toasted marshmallow, cinnamon and saddle leather on the nose. The palate brings black pepper, caramel, nutmeg, baked apple and burnt sugar. The finish is long, warm and spicy, with dark chocolate, clove and citrus peel.
