A Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle, made at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont. The brand is named after Meredith Basil Hayden Sr.
Its mashbill is 63% corn, 27% rye and 10% malted barley, a higher share of rye than the standard Jim Beam recipe.
The nose is sweet caramel and light vanilla, with gentle oak spice and a peppery edge. The palate brings honey, toffee, mild rye spice and hints of apple and pear. The finish is clean and fairly short, with caramel and dry oak.
