Old Grand-Dad Bonded is a Kentucky straight bourbon made by Jim Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. It follows the brand's high-rye mash bill, which comes from its founder, Basil Hayden Sr.
As a Bottled-in-Bond bourbon, it was distilled by one distiller in a single season, matured for at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse and bottled at 100 proof, or 50% ABV.
The nose combines sweet corn, orchard fruit, orange peel, vanilla and baking spice. The palate is firm, with cinnamon spice, caramel-toffee, rye pepper, roasted peanut, toasted oak and cherry pit. The finish is medium to long and warming, with rye spice, nutmeg, dark chocolate-tinged caramel and a dry oak edge.
