This is Old Grand-Dad Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, bottled in 1988 at 43% ABV in a 100cl bottle. The brand's roots lie at Hobbs Station, where the original Old Grand-Dad distillery was built by the second generation descendants of Basil Hayden. Ahead of Prohibition, the Wathen family reorganised their business as the American Medicinal Spirits Co, which allowed bottling to continue for medicinal purposes. Jim Beam acquired the Frankfort distillery and National Distillers in 1987, the year before this bottling.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
