This is Old Grand-Dad Special Reserve, a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled in 1994 and 1995 at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Old Grand-Dad is named after Basil Hayden, who still features on the label. The brand's history runs through several Kentucky distilling families, among them the Beam, Dant, Hayden, Taylor, Medley and Wathen families. The original distillery at Hobbs Station never re-opened after Prohibition. National Distillers bought the Frankfort distillery in 1933, and Jim Beam took over National Distillers in 1987, producing this bourbon at Clermont.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
