Old Hamer Bourbon Legends is a straight bourbon bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The bourbon comes from an undisclosed Indiana distillery and is bottled by West Fork Whiskey of Indianapolis, reviving a Hamer family recipe.
Its mashbill is 99% corn and 1% malted barley, with no rye or wheat as secondary grain. It is aged in new charred American oak barrels.
The nose is caramel corn, vanilla and toasted oak over a gentle honeyed sweetness. The palate is soft and sweet, with creamed corn, brown sugar, baked vanilla, butterscotch and a little oak tannin. The finish is medium in length, with corn pudding and faint toasted wood.
